Hoedspruit is under 24hours Farm Watch Security and provides Security presence arround in Town. We, Isaac and I never had any incidents in all the years we are travelling, but there is 2 major things that we think is important while travelling, not only in South Africa. Use your instincts as you would do it in every big City. Bad things can happen everywhere, that is a fact. Look out for yourself and your things a bit more than usually in your country of origin (especially for first time travellers). Yes, most of the Lodges are has Wifi and Backup Systems for power outages. It is very much dependant on the area we are. Be prepared that there might be some times where you don’t have access to WiFi. And there might be some time where you don’t have electricity. For those times we suggest to bring a Book, or Journal and enjoy the time you have just with yourself offline with a candle. If we are in an area where there is no Wifi you will get all the information or technical support (Radios) needed to contact somebody of our team or the Lodge you are staying at.
